Welcome to The Quiet Story. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, services, and any experiences you book or participate in with us. By accessing our site or purchasing a service, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Our Services

The Quiet Story offers private, curated island experiences in Hawaiʻi, including but not limited to guided cultural journeys, educational experiences, photography sessions, wellness activities, and legacy-based storytelling. All services are customized based on client input, location, seasonality, and availability of collaborators and experts.

2. Booking & Payment

• All experiences must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

• A deposit or full payment is required at the time of booking, depending on the service selected.

• Final payment, if applicable, is due [14] days prior to your scheduled experience unless otherwise agreed.

• Prices are quoted in USD and may vary based on group size, duration, customization, and location.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Because our offerings are bespoke and require coordination with cultural practitioners, artists, and private venues, the following policies apply:

• Rescheduling: No penalty for changes made more than 72 hours prior to your experience.

• Cancellations:

• 7+ days before: 100% refund (minus any non-refundable vendor fees)

• 72–7 hours before: 50% refund

• Less than 72 hours: No refund

• In the case of weather, illness, or natural disruption, we will do our best to reschedule your experience or offer a partial refund.

4. Client Responsibilities

• You agree to provide accurate information regarding group size, health conditions, dietary needs, and special accommodations.

• You are responsible for arriving on time to your experience and ensuring your group adheres to safety and cultural guidelines.

• Clients agree to respect the privacy, traditions, and requests of any cultural hosts or practitioners involved in their experience.

5. Photography & Media

• All photography taken during your experience is owned by The Quiet Story, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Clients will receive a digital gallery of edited images for personal use only.

• Commercial use, resale, or publication of images requires written permission and licensing terms.

• We may request to use selected images for promotional purposes; your consent will be obtained in writing.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on our website—including text, branding, images, and creative concepts is the exclusive property of The Quiet Story and may not be used, copied, or reproduced without express permission.

7. Assumption of Risk

Clients understand that certain experiences may involve physical activity, transportation, or exposure to natural environments. By booking, you acknowledge these inherent risks and release The Quiet Story, its affiliates, and contractors from liability for injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation.

8. Health & Wellness Experiences

Some services may include wellness offerings (e.g., sound baths, breathwork, or mindfulness practices). These are not medical treatments and are provided for relaxation and education purposes only. Please consult your healthcare provider before participation if needed.

9. Confidentiality & Discretion

We uphold the highest standards of discretion and privacy for all clients. Any personal or professional information shared before, during, or after an experience will be treated as confidential unless otherwise agreed.

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or operating procedures. The most current version will always be available on our website.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, without regard to conflict of law principles.
